Payment & billing questions

What happens if my payment fails?

Card issuers sometimes decline a renewal — an expired card, insufficient funds, or a bank security check. Our payment provider automatically retries the payment over roughly two weeks, and your plan stays fully active during that time.

If every retry fails, your subscription is cancelled at the end of the period you already paid for. You'll receive email notices along the way so you can update your card in the customer portal (Billing → Manage plan).

What happens to my account and data if my subscription ends?

Your account is never deleted for non-payment. Everything you've created — photo books, photos, care profile, diary entries, appointments and visitors — stays safely stored. What changes is which plan limits apply.

You move back to the Free Base Level App (1 photo book and 5 photos visible in the app). Anything above those limits is kept on our servers but hidden until you resubscribe — as soon as you're on a paid plan again, your extra books and photos reappear exactly as they were.

Paid-only features — the calendar screensaver, family & friends photobook, visitors, appointments, the week-ahead view and audio narration — become unavailable until you resubscribe.

Can I cancel and come back later?

Yes. Cancel anytime from Billing — you keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for. When you resubscribe later, all your previously stored books, photos and care information light up again on the new plan.
